1 - Logisitics Coordinator & Materials Management
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year (based on experience)
Job Summary: Under direction of the Logistics Manager, this individual will perform various functions in the Logistics Department. The Logistics Coordinator will support and be the communication channel for customers & carrier partners. Daily management of negotiating freight costs, customer service (i.e., profitability and utilization of resources), order tracking and carrier dispatch are a key focus of this position. Independent and discretionary judgment is a valuable quality when presenting customer and driver solutions, as well as communicating concerns to management.
Experience:
Freight Transportation: 1 year (Preferred)
Fluent in English & Spanish (Preferred)
Essential Responsibilities:
LOGISTICS:
Match loads to carriers/drivers via phone/email or computerized system (Navisphere)
Contact carriers to coordinate freight at cheapest rates
Enter all required information for billing and effective dispatch
Create and distribute reports to each department
Monitor and address carrier performance in order to maintain high levels of on-time service
Direct and monitor execution of load tenders, customer web portal maintenance/updates
Coordinate driver's appointment needs (e.g. pick-up, deliveries, detention, etc.) with carrier
Coordinate with the Logistics Manager to ensure high levels of customer service are met
Perform audits of service issues/prices to ensure company performance goals are achieved
Work with Logistics Manager to address customer and/or driver service issues
MATERIALS MANAGEMENT:
Identify and verify incoming asset streams with warehouse staff
Assign value to asset streams
Record and deliver materials receipts
Track materials and work with managers to sell material in a timely manner
Verify Information with accounting to ensure accounts payable are accurate
Additional Responsibilities:
Compile, compose and deliver reports using Microsoft Office programs
Handle high volume of e-mail with the ability to accurately respond and follow-up quickly
Independently evaluate emails and paperwork for distribution to departments
Exercises discretion and independent judgment with regard to daily workload
Work with employees and management team to attain company goals
Perform other related duties as assigned by manager
Assist in departments as needed directed by manager
Required Skills & Abilities:
Read, comprehend, count accurately, do simple math and write English legibly
Demonstrate interpersonal and customer service skills
1-year Brokerage/Dispatch experience preferred
PC proficient with good working knowledge of MS Office and OneDrive
Work cohesively as part of a diverse team
Follow directions with accuracy and quality control
Good communication skills including the ability to interface effectively with customers, vendors, drivers, and internal departments
Learn and utilize various software systems to perform daily task.
Utilize critical thinking skills
